So I recently became aware of the Marvel character Galacta, daughter of Galactus, and I was immediately smitten with our ridiculous this character was. In the last few years Marvel has really made it a point to make more female characters based on the attributes of preexisting male characters. Galacta, or just "Gali", is another example of this even if her first appearance was 7 years ago.
Although I dig her "mecha-musume"/anime girl design, and her personality is really interesting (she doesn't want to devour worlds like her father does), I'm not too fond of her miniskirt outfit and thigh-high boots. I feel like a demigod like Gali would maybe be dressed in something a bit more regal and powerful looking, armor maybe, but I guess her creators just wanted something cute and anime-like and left it at that. It's not bad, but I wish there was a bit more to her overall look.
As of right now, Gali isn't considered a canonical character within the Marvel Comics Universe. She appears to have a small online following so maybe that will change in the future, especially with Marvel's shift and focus as a multimedia empire since Gali's first appearance. Maybe we'll see Gali turn up in the Marvel cinematic or television universes, or a return in the comics continuity proper.
As a sidenote, I'm quite fond of her gold alternate costume that was from the sketchbook from the first issue of her comic appearance. I like how the gold and purple separates her a bit more in design from her father, Galactus. And it just has a bit more personality than the costume she ended up having in the comic. Just my opinion though.
