Currently reading "Hypnotism", by De Laurence, L. W. (Lauron William)


The concepts behind mesmerism and magnetic healing have always intrigued me. I do believe the mind has a great deal of potential to heal the body, and even influence others to do things they would normally not choose to do for themselves, but I wonder how much serious research has gone into actually attempting to map out the mind during the mesmeric process. I doubt any real research has occurred as most professional mesmerists are just stage magicians who know a few good card tricks and that's all. 

This book doesn't really help the case for mesmerism, at least not yet. It's a quick read if I'm honest; after 20 minutes of reading I was already 4 chapters in and I don't think I really learned anything new. Some of the techniques are described, but it still sounds like stage pageantry rather than a serious spiritual or metaphysical science. What it does sound like more than anything is how to find people who are easily susceptible to your "will" and how to non-verbally (or sometimes verbally) make them do the things you want. 

I'm not up the to the portion of the book about "magnetic healing" but if I find anything new or meaningful in those chapters I'll report on this book again. If not, well, at least it has a really cool cover.

I'm still very fascinated with Lawsonomy


I haven't had much time recently to read more chapters from the book "Lawsonomy", but it's all still on my mind. 

I've studied and continue to study spiritual science and philosophy from various esoteric schools, so you'd think I'd be used to stuff like Lawsonomy, but it's so different. It's a lot less abstract and a lot more grounded in easier to understand concepts. I believe I read or heard somewhere that Commander Lawson himself didn't believe in the notion of "energy" as an etheric force, but rather, believed more in motion, compression, penetration, suction, and other concepts related to air. I can't say I'm surprised since he was a leader in his field of aeronautics. 

Here is the chapter I am currently mulling over on from the book, "Lawsonomy", by Alfred Lawson.

CHAPTER 5
MOVEMENT


Life is action. If matter were stationary and did not move then there would be no physical manifestation of life.

Because of the difference in density throughout space one substance is enabled to penetrate another substance and that is movement.

There could be no movement without something to move so it is matter that moves. Space itself is immovable.

If all matter in space were equal in density there could be no penetration and consequently no movement.

So I say PENETRABILITY is the basic law of movement.

A piece of steel can penetrate water or air because it is of a different density but cannot penetrate another piece of steel of equal density.

When density is equal there can be no penetration.

Steel can penetrate heat and heat can penetrate steel because they are of different density.

In my book CREATION I wrote as follows:

Man, composed of different proportions and variety of substances than air or water, is of a different density than either of them.

Air being of lesser density than water, man penetrates air with less effort than he penetrates water.

Man cannot penetrate steel because steel is of a greater density than man, and its crevices are not large enough to permit the body of man to pass through.

Heat, which is of lesser density than steel, penetrates it in the same manner that water penetrates a metal sieve.

The difference in density of heat and water is so great that heat is able to pass through the minute crevices of solid steel whereas water is unable to do so.

Heat will also pass through the crevices of water, mix with it and form a combination known as vapor.

This combination of heat and water (vapor) then becomes a substance of different density than either heat or water.

Vapor is of greater density than heat and of lesser density than water.

From this one can understand why Penetrability is the basic law of movement, for without penetration nothing would move at all.

In Space without size, shape, inside or outside, there is no foundation whatsoever for anything to rest upon. So everything must keep moving forever.

There is no up or down in Space, no east or west, no latitude or longitude. There is no particular place or direction for the contents of Space to move to; still they must keep moving without ever reaching a final destination.

Mass in Space is continually falling toward volume and volume in Space is continually drawing mass toward it.

When mass falls toward volume it leaves behind a vacuum, or Space with lesser density, which causes other mass to fall toward it. For this reason all mass cannot fall in the same direction or place.

Space made vacant by falling mass must be filled with substances of greater density, and this process is Suction.

When substances of greater density fall toward space of lesser density the process is Pressure.

Suction and Pressure is the only force in Space. Each is dependent upon the other and nothing can move without their combined pull and push.

Suction is the female of movement and Pressure is the male of movement.

When substances of greater density fall, or are drawn toward Space of lesser density, a moving current is formed which moves everything of a movable nature in line with it.

Currents are of different density and proportions.

There are no limits to the largeness or smallness of currents and because of the difference in density they penetrate one another.

Currents of greater density are penetrated by currents of lesser density.

Currents of lesser density are penetrated by currents of greater density.

For instance, a current of water, which is of greater density than air, will penetrate air, or a current of light or a current of electricity, either of which is of lesser density than air, will also penetrate air.

The speed in movement of currents is regulated by the difference in density of the substance moving, the substance through which it moves and the power exerted by Suction and Pressure at the terminals of each current.

Currents are penetrated by currents at all angles and speeds. Thus, a current of water moving south and penetrating a current of air moving north could be penetrated by currents of light moving northwest and at an latitudinal angle downward of 45 degrees, more or less, while currents of heat can penetrate the water from below at an upward angle of 30 degrees more or less and in a southeasterly direction, as compared with the earth's surface.

In fact, currents can penetrate one another at innumerable angles and directions.

Each current follows its own course as caused by its own terminals of Suction and Pressure, although influenced and moved by other currents in Space of different density and proportions moving in many directions at the same time, as shown in the chapter on Zig-Zag-and-Swirl.

All currents have opposite terminals that is, points from whence they begin and points at which they end. Currents begin with Pressure and end with Suction.

Now, Penetrability does not only mean that currents of water penetrate air and that currents of heat penetrate water; but, it also means that currents of substances of lesser density and lesser proportions penetrate the particles of substances which compose water and air and heat, etc. It also means that the particles which compose heat or any other substances of lesser or greater density contain currents of still lesser density and proportions, and so on without limits.

A ray of light contains a number of particles and currents of different density and proportions, each of which is as important in its own sphere as the Earth or Solar System are important in their different spheres.

Penetrability also means that there are greater currents in Space than currents of heat, air or water, and that these currents are moving about everywhere in Space penetrating one another without limit.

There are cosmic currents without limit and these currents are caused and moved by the same forces that cause and move currents of air, currents of water; currents of light, currents of heat, or currents that move molecules, atoms, electrons and lesser particles.

No electron, no atom, no molecule, no earthly formation, no cosmic formation, or any other formation in Space, large or small, could move at all except by, or through the agency of currents caused by Suction and Pressure."

POX UPDATE: "Victory! Fdoppp Get Currency"


So I'm still playing my POX game. So far I've managed to make it to the 5th arena. Getting there was surprisingly difficult. I actually spent almost all day yesterday trying to clear the 4th arena. I have three active Infectors, but Fdoppp is still my strongest and primary fighter. After the third arena there haven't been any hidden areas as far as I could find. I'm going to go back and see if I missed something in though. 

I'm finally gonna read the Bible. God help me.


I was late for today's class. I guess I was more worn out yesterday than I considered. I didn't even hear my alarms this morning. But it all worked out, and I made it to class and I'm happy I did. 

Today's course was "Plato and the Bible", which I'm really looking forward to because I have always avoided reading the Holy Bible in depth. I peruse it from time to time, but I've never tackled reading it as literature with any real seriousness. I always felt that sort of thing was better left to Theologians and history buffs. Plus deciding on a translation of it would be a nightmare. I'm not the biggest fan of the King James Version, but maybe that will be turned around on me since that's the version we'll be using in this class I believe.

My Reflection on "Death Note" 2017


I really quite enjoyed Netflix's "Death Note". I know there are a lot of complaints about the casting, and weird notions of cultural appropriation, and whatever; but even given all of that I really enjoyed seeing re-imaginings of characters I'm already somewhat familiar with in a new setting, with new backgrounds. 

One thing I didn't like about the original versions of L and Light is how super perfect they were. Two world class unbeatable geniuses going at it. It's fun for sure, but seeing the same thing again would have been a drag I feel. In this new interpretation, bot L and Light have their shortcomings while still being incredibly smart. Light is moved by his reactionary nature, while L isn't above becoming more passionate. I liked it. Two smug teenage nerds trying to to prove their case.


Willem Dafoe as Ryuk was the best though. Even if you don't like the film itself you will definitely love all the Ryuk scenes. He's a lot more sinister and less juvenile than his Japanese counterpart in this, and he's always obscured by darkness. Usually the most dynamic part of him that you'll see are his orange glowing eyes. His design hasn't changed much, except he resembles Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin face in some shots. 

The character Mia is also quite interesting. I'm not sure if she's supposed to be a replacement for Misa as I remember there was another character who was a love interest to Light in the original, but I can't recall if they have the same name (and I'm too lazy to look it up). I though for a bit that Mia wasn't going to play as big of a role as he actually did, so that was a great surprise. She was hardly in the advertising for the movie, so her involvement was really something unexpected. The same goes for Light's father, who is a cop just trying to keep it together throughout the movie. 

I say give it a shot. If you like this original and you take offense to this then that's on you I feel. Everyone involved did their best in this movie and it shows. This isn't like "Dragon Ball Evolution"; there's actual depth in this film, and plenty of room for a sequel or two. Just remember, this isn't meant to replace the original in anyway, it's just a new interpretation. That's all. Just open your heart up to new versions of your favorite characters, and you'll be surprised how much you like it.

Are you POX'er's (or would it be "Poxxer's"?) ready for this amazing archaic find! 

Sometimes I really am amazed to the lengths I will dig for information on the things I like. I used the Internet Archives Wayback Machine to dig into the ancient Hasbro website to learn more about the universe of POX. I was able to download a few sound files and even a flash movie. I'm unsure how to convert a Flash file into a video file right now, but once I do I will upload it. 

Since my I have a Cycro POX device, I was happy to see some of the downloadable icons for AIM were still available. 



Below is all the information I could salvage from the original POX website. 

The Beginning of POX:

A strange and unpredictable meteor shower deposits a number of space rocks across the face of the Earth. Scientists, in an attempt to locate their place of origin, discover that the meteorites are laced with an unknown strain of alien DNA. To better examine this phenomenon, Earth's scientists inject nano-bots (microscopic cybernetic organisms) into the meteorites in order to obtain better readings on the alien DNA. To their horror, the nano-bots are overcome and assimilated by the alien life force. The alien DNA has infected the nano-bot technology to create a legion of DNA infectors - which scientists call POX!

These species were first cataloged and analyzed by the scientists who created the nanorobotic explorers for the exploration of meteorite TCK-124. The interior of the meteorite is layered in an organized apparently artificial constructed fashion. [ One faction in the scientific group believe it to be a small part of a large organic computer or brain from an even larger organism as yet unidentified]

Initial passive internal scans of the meteor showed the presence of alien DNA. Not wishing to damage the structure of the meteorite by cutting or drilling, multiple nano-robotic probes were introduced to explore the interior. These multipurpose probes were developed for the medical community as an aid to clearing arterial plaque, identifying and dispatching foreign micro-organisms. They possess organic processing chips, are self replicating and powered by a living generator lamp that processes energy like a living cell.

Immediately after contact and collection by the robotic probes, the alien DNA was exposed to energy from the living power lamp. The DNA awakened and in an impressive display of adaptive evolution, aggressively attacked and infiltrated the power lamps where self-replication and expansion began. Their behavior is not unlike terrestrial insect behavior. The difference came when the expanding living mass of cells encountered the mechanized/robotic elements of the probes. The blending of living and mechanical elements in the probes themselves gave the new mutated cells a fertile ground for expansion and integration of the whole probe, not just the power lamps. Individual growth stopped at the limits of the probe. In the absorption of the probes, hardware was broken down and reintegrated into 3 distinct areas, connected by a distinct "collar" and "belt" interface area. Integrated into all POX species is the original probes' ability to transmit data via carrier wave signal to the control units used by the scientists.

The number 3 seems to impress itself on all manner of details related to the POX. From the 3 sectioned torso each section appears to have 3 aspects, which breaks down among the 3 species. Each aspect has a behavior and ability specific to another of the 3 species.

All of the species have aggressive tendencies and manifest these in 3 very distinct ways. Data on individual species is listed below.

It is believed that the atavistic nature of the POX and their ability to transmit themselves without connectivity may be the key to opening up new technological frontiers in communications and computing power. It is clear that the POX had at one time some sort of communication structure that now is reduced to animal grunts and squeals. It id also believed that if we can complete the entire genome, across all 3 species of POX, their full capabilities will be restored and we will be able to communicate with them. We may be able to find out about their origins and use this information to push technology forward several centuries. Or according to some, we may give back life and intelligence to a dead race of ferocious alien creatures that could destroy all current technology.

The PCU (POX Containment Unit) enables humans to capture, control, and manipulate the POX. With this device, you will have the ability to create hybrid strands of POX that are so powerful they will actually seek out and destroy all alien POX - thereby saving the universe!

MISSION:
It's up to you to save the universe. Through personal experimentation and by defeating other strands of POX, you must create and control some of the most powerful POX the universe has ever seen. But be warned. The spread has already begun. It is unknown where POX will be encountered. The battle could rage at any time. In any place. The fate of the universe could be determined in the blink of an eye. POX...It's contagious!

P.O.X.
Programmable Ordinance Xeno Infector

POX Secret Agent (P.S.A.)
A player of POX. A human in possession and control of a PCU.

Elite POX Agent (E.P.A.)
A veteran agent player of POX. A member of an elite group that helps educate new players and assists in its emergence into new areas.

PCU (POX Containment Unit)
The device used to Play POX. It is used to create, control, transmit and collect POX Infector. Each PCU is color-coded to identify the species type it contains. The button map is outlined below. See the Icon Map definition for more detailed information.


Icon Map
Below is an image and descriptions of all the icons that appear on the game screen and their function.



Transmit
This icon flashes when the unit is actively transmitting a POX Infector into the Resonance Field.

POX Infector select Brackets
These brackets move back and forth across the lineup and surround an individual Infector to indicate that it has been selected. It also represents the POX Infector that occupies the Gate. The bracket default position is (A).

Lineup A-B-C-D
These icons are lit to represent a POX Infector. The number of icons lit is the number of Infectors in the lineup. A-B-C-D is the order in which POX Infectors are created. The default starting position for a POX is A, and moves to the left as more are created.

(1) Info
This icon is lit when the agent is in the info section of the game menu. Information is displayed in the detail and text areas about individual POX Infectors in the lineup or about the PCU and a victory counter.

(2) Battle Clock
This area of the game control menu displays the time remaining in a PCU multi-player battle cycle. It is connected to the fight area and the Transmission Gateway. It is set for 15 PCU time units (roughly 1/2 hour real time) and starts counting down when a POX Infector is loaded into the Transmission Gateway and is activated. When it is active it locks the Gateway for that period of time and limits player access. This icon is lit when the agent has accessed the Battle Clock section of the game menu. It also spins and counts down when the PCU is in Battle Cycle.

(3) Low Battery Icon
When this icon is lit it is time to change the batteries.

(4) Arena
This icon is lit when the agent has accessed the Genome Arena (solo game).

(5) Fight
This icon is lit when the agent has accessed the Battle Cycle Control menu. This menu allows the agent to select a POX Infector to go in the gateway, activate the gateway or attack an intruder in the gateway.

(6) Stasis
This icon is lit when the player is in the Stasis area of the game menu. POX Infectors that have been collected as trophies and for dissection are stored here. It holds up to 12 enemy POX Infectors.

(7) Forge
This icon is lit when the player is in the Forge area of the game menu. Here is where an agent may create, program and name POX Infectors for the lineup.

(8) Library
This icon is lit when the player is in the Genome Library. This area of the game control menu displays the body parts collected by the player.

Color Icon Covers
These icons display the color of different body parts. The color that is visible is the color of the part.

Power Level Indicators
These icons are used in the Stasis area to show the power level of POX Infector parts collected in the multiplayer game. At a glance, the agent may know if the parts they have just collected are more or less powerful than current library parts. The circle indicates that the part already exists in the library and is the same power level. The circle with an arrow above it indicates that the part shown is more powerful than one already in the library. The circle with an arrow below it indicates that the part shown is less powerful than one already in the library. These icons are also used to show multiple pages in other areas of the game control menu.

Text Area
This is the area of the screen where text is displayed.

Detail Area
This is the area of the screen where images of POX Infectors are displayed.

LCD Border
This border defines the total viewable area of the LCD screen.


Options
This feature of the PCU is where the Resonance Field and sound controls are accessed.
RF (Resonance Field)
This is the technology that sends a single POX Infector to battle outside your PCU (you turn it on and off). It may be necessary at certain times to turn the RF off according to law. Otherwise, you can turn it on once and leave it on.
Sound
Turns the sound on and off. Turn it on to hear that funky fresh sound track and all the alerts, attacks and squeals. Turn it off and play in secret.

Game Control Menu (GAME)
This feature of the PCU is where all other areas of the game are accessed. These include Info, Arena, Fight, Stasis, Forge, Library, and Battle Clock.

Info (Information)
This area of the game control menu is where information about the PCU or individual POX Infector is displayed. Under the PCU submenu, the agent name and I-scope Identification code is displayed. Under the POX Infector Lineup submenu, 3 pages of information are displayed: 1) Name and number of Victories 2) Name and body part Assembly of selected POX Infector 3) W.A.D. Combat Sequence.

Arena (Genome Arena)
This area of the game control menu is where the Solo game is accessed. A player may select a POX Infector from the Lineup and bring it to the Arena to explore and learn about the combat sequence and abilities that POX Infector is programmed with.

This area is made up of 17 levels. Each level is a maze/puzzle containing elements that may help or harm the POX. There are enemy POX Infectors that must be fought and defeated. Other objects that appear in the Genome Arena are:

Portal
This is where the player enters a level.
Cryopods
These are containers that may hold beneficial healing proteins, dormant POX Infectors, traps, or RNA currency that can be converted in the Body Regeneration Shop (Body Shop) to healing proteins. At the end of each level is a POX-Overspore who guards a Cryopod containing a piece of the POX genome that is converted into a body part and added to the Genome Library.
Doors
Some doors may be open, closed, locked, or even secret. They allow access to other rooms within a level.
Pylons
These objects are scattered throughout the different levels. They are there to help the player navigate and remember which rooms they've already been through.
Enemies (POX Infectors in Genome Arena)
These are enemies that a player will encounter with their POX Infector in the Genome Arena. They are broken down into 2 categories, Subspores and Overspores. The Subspores guard different areas of the levels and are weaker than the Overspores. The Overspores are more powerful and guard the Body part in the cryopod at the end of a level. They are named and listed below.

Fight (Battle Cycle Control)
This is the area of the game control menu where a POX Infector is loaded into the Transmission Gateway and the multi-player Battle Clock is started. The Switch submenu allows the agent/player to select any POX Infector from the Lineup before starting a multi-player battle.

Stasis (Stasis Lab)
This area is where POX Infectors captured in the multi-player battle are stored. Here they may be examined and dissected. A single part may be removed from any one POX Infector. Reference icons next to the displayed parts indicate if the part is already in the Genome Library. These icons also indicate if the Hit Points on the new part are of greater or lesser value than the current part already owned. The total number of POX Infectors that may be held in Stasis is 8.

Forge (Bioforge)
The area of the game control menu where POX Infectors are created, purged, programmed and given individual names. There are 3 steps to create a POX Infector. The first involves picking body parts from the Genome library; first a head is selected, then body, and finally a tail. The second phase embeds the POX Infector with a W.A.D. combat sequence. The third phase loads the new POX Infector with a unique name/ID code.

Library (Genome Library)
This area of the game control menu displays the body parts collected by the player. The library display is divided by species and starts with the parts already present when the PCU is first powered up.

Battle Clock (Battle Cycle Clock)
This area of the game control menu displays the time remaining in a PCU multi-player battle cycle. It is connected to the fight area and the Transmission Gateway. It is set for 15 PCU time units (roughly 1/2 hour real time) and starts counting down when a POX Infector is loaded into the Transmission Gateway and is activated. When it is active it locks the Gateway for that period of time and limits player access. This icon is lit when the agent has accessed the Battle Clock section of the game menu. It also spins and counts down when the PCU is in Battle Cycle.

Purge
This function allows the agent to reduce an existing POX Infector into its individual body parts and return them to the Library or terminate a captured POX Infector held in Stasis.

Detail Window
This is the area of the display on the PCU where images of the Genome Arena, POX Infectors, battle sequences, and information text are displayed.

Population
This term refers to the total number of PCUs/Agents in a given play area. It is generally bounded by a geographical location that may include a household, a bus, schoolyard, city, planet, or other location or special event.

Sleep
This is a state of the PCU where the display is shut off to conserve power. In this state the Battle Clock will still function, and all game/POX Infector information will be saved.

Awake
This is a state of the PCU where the display is on and all functions are active. A unit that is asleep but still in a victorious or defeated state will awaken to battle if another PCU that is actively transmitting enters the range of the Resonance Field.

Controls
These are the buttons used on the front of the PCU to interface with the Game Control Menus and are defined below.

(A) Menu

This button will take a player to the top of the game control menu from anywhere in the game.

(B) Confirm

[image unavailable] This button is used to confirm a choice or action or to take a player forward through a menu selection.

(C) Cancel

This button is used to cancel a choice or action or to take a player backwards through a menu selection.

Send
This button can be used to automatically load and start the battle cycle of the PCU, provided that the Resonance Field is already activated.

On/Off
This button will toggle a PCU between the states of Sleep and Awake.

POX INFECTOR DATA 

"As each species emerged scientists studying them began to see certain qualities among them and recorded their observations. These records are catalogued here as the species/colors we know currently.

The POX Infectors do not yet speak in any language that we can understand or translate. This may be because of the incomplete genome. They are considered wild alien animals with bundles of instincts and broken programming that do much acting and reacting without real thought.

We don't know everything yet and more data will be released as it is discovered. Click on a logo or a sub-menu item for more information about each species."


BATTLE STRATEGY


"IT'S TIME TO BATTLE!

Our agent is preparing to battle outside his PCU. He is a seasoned veteran of the ARENA, and has built up his library with some of the most devious and powerful body parts known to man. He strategically creates a POX Infector by picking out the perfect head, body, and tail.

Then he assigns the WAD - its combat sequence. What will it attack with? Where will it strike its opponent? How will it defend itself?

The WAD answers all these questions. But one question remains: How powerful will the enemy POX be?"

Tips


The TIPS area of the website is designed to give the new and seasoned player more insight into using the PCU, the best ways to create Infectors, and how to play and succeed in the game of POX, including important information that's not revealed in the game rules.

Game-Play Tips


When you play the Genome Arena Solo Game, the RF shuts itself off. This is a good way to avoid being attacked near the end of a Battle Cycle.

When playing the Solo Game, just let the PCU go to sleep and it will save the current game level.

If 2 people name their PCUs the same and input the same ID number, the 2 will not battle each other. This way, 2 or more players could form a team although they will spread their own unique POX Infectors among the population. It's another stealthy way to play the game.

Turn the sound off to keep others from knowing you're carrying a PCU.

Set up the PCU to transmit a POX Infector and carry the PCU with the sound off in a cargo pocket or in the outer pocket of a backpack. No one will know you're carrying and playing.

Infector Tips


Know your enemy. Try to figure out what species POX Infectors you encounter in multiplayer battle are coming from. At the end of an Arena level pick the parts that work against the species you encounter most. This way you're guaranteed a better chance that the parts you use will trigger and do special damage against your opposition.

Don't be afraid to lose parts to other players. They may eventually make their way back to you again. Each time a part is taken from another player, it increases in hit points by 10 and increases the amount of damage it can do and it can take.

For the SPINO species, Attack, Attack, Attack... use the parts whose special damage is always active first and save the '1 Activation' parts for the last round of combat.

For the CYCRO species, mix up the parts for a multiple attack in one round and couple them with parts that provide rapid healing.

For the PLASMO species, it's not how you attack but how you defend. Almost all parts are designed to give back damage to the attacker when used to block or when they are damaged.

For all POX Infectors, a well-rounded individual will do better in the long run than one that specializes in only their species parts. Mix and match from other species as they become available. You may lose the part temporarily to another player but when it comes back to you another day, it will be more powerful.


Battle Tips


Use the triggers as a guide to select the combat sequence. Hit triggers do damage when they hit, Block triggers work when that part is used to block, damage triggers work when that part is not used to block and is hit be an opponent, Bump triggers work when that part is blocked by an opponent.

All damage increases as the hit points of the part increases.

POX Infectors are unpredictable at times. Sometimes you will win the battle against another POX Agent, but will not register Victory Points or the parts of the defeated Infector. This is because your POX Infector has gone Wild! Your Infector has escaped your control and has infected an opponent. This is a random occurrence.

Electronic Game Allows Players to Secretly Create and Collect to Save the Universe from Aliens

EAST LONGMEADOW, MA (Holiday 2001) - What if two kids could play a head-to-head game in a car ... while at a stoplight? What if they were in two different cars? What if they didn't know each other? That's just one element of the inventive game play of the new electronic game, POX.

The POX game creates a gateway for an entire universe of players trying to manipulate POX characters' features to find the most powerful combination. In each round of game play, one player becomes the winner by defeating a weaker POX character created by an opponent, thereby helping to eradicate this alien DNA from earth. Opponents may be lurking anywhere, so game play happens covertly, in an instant.

The POX game redefines traditional electronic play. By utilizing Radio Frequency (RF) wireless technology, game play can take place in a way never before experienced. POX game players can battle one another almost anywhere up to 30-feet, through most walls and floors, even from car to car. Battles will occur with the POX Containment Unit (PCU) in a pocket, hidden in a backpack or in a locker. The game unit - portable with sound shut-off - allows for stealth play anytime and anywhere, without anyone knowing except those who have battled. In a crowded school hallway or in a mall, POX game carriers can engage in battle with unknown and unseen opponents. Only the name of the winning POX character in the PCU of the defeated players will offer a clue as to the victor's identity.

Players build and battle enemy characters in 17 levels of the solo game play. Utilizing the library of alien body parts available, each with its own powers and characteristics, players can create more than 7,500 different combinations of heads, bodies and tails for an almost infinite number of battle sequences and game play scenarios.

Each alien body part belongs to one of three species - SpinoTM, CycroTM and PlasmoTM - which possess special abilities. The Red Spino species is regarded for its power of strength; the Green Cycro for its power of speed; and the Blue Plasmo for its power of deception. In building and selecting the most powerful combination of alien body parts and species, players create a unique, individualized and hopefully unbeatable lineup of alien POX characters prepared to battle in the multi-player game play.

Upon detection of another PCU, an instantaneous and automatic battle ensues, with only one POX character emerging victorious, ready to take on more opponents on its way to rule the world. If defeated, the losing POX character becomes spare parts in the winner's library of alien heads, bodies and tails. The defeated player can use the victorious POX character in its PCU to battle and beat other players or try to fight the intruder with a POX character from among its line up.

"The thrill of the POX game is derived from the almost limitless play," comments Darrell Merino, Senior Director, Product Design, Hasbro Games. "Creating a unique character with a personally selected battle sequence, and playing through walls without even touching a button or knowing who you fought, is a remarkable and exciting breakthrough in game play."

Chicago was selected as the first city in the world to make POX available to eager kids. On May 12, the game became available at nearly 200 retail locations citywide. As part of the game's launch, Hasbro recruited 1,600 Chicagoland boys, age eight to 13 to serve as Secret Agents. They became experts in POX gameplay and spread the word about POX through secret missions around the city.

In early September, the game hit retail locations nationwide, and on November 17 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Toys "R" Us across the country, POX players will gather to test their skills in POX tournaments.
